Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday ridiculed the fact that there was no Gandhi family member contesting the Amethi Lok Sabha seat this year. Referring to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's slogan of 'daro mat [Don't be scared]' PM Modi said: "Bhago mat [Don't run]."

PM Modi said there is no need for any opinion survey or exit poll because Congress will lose by an even bigger margin than last time. Referring to Sonia Gandhi, PM Modi said: "Their tallest leader did not have the guts to fight the polls in Raebareli. She fled to Rajasthan and became a Rajya Sabha member." "I had predicted shehzaada [Rahul Gandhi] would lose Wayanad. That's why he was looking for a second seat. Their followers also said he would fight from Amethi. But he is so scared that he fled to Raebareli to look for a way out," PM Modi said.

"These people go around telling people daro mat. I want to tell them arre daro mat; bhago mat," PM Modi made a jibe at the Gandhis.

He further alleged that the I.N.D.I.A bloc is dedicated only to a particular community's vote bank.

PM Modi attacked the Left-Congress alliance and the TMC in Bengal saying that he was not scared as he had come out of poverty. "Getting scared is not in my dictionary. I am determined to work for the nation," he said.

Accusing the three parties of being "anti-Hindu", PM Modi said: "A TMC MLA said Hindus would be drowned in the Bhagirathi in two hours. What has Bengal come to? TMC has reduced Hindus to second-class citizens." PM Modi was referring to a purported clip of TMC MLA Humayun Kabir, who allegedly made the comment. The clip is now viral on social media.
