New Delhi: After the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stamped its authority and registered thumping victories in the Hindi heartland states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the party workers at the BJP headquarters in Delhi.
During his address, PM Modi said that today's win was historic and unprecedented. "Today's victory is historical and unprecedented...The idea of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' has won today," he said.
He added, "Some people are even saying that today's hattrick has guaranteed the hattrick of 2024."
He further stated, "Today, the resolution of Atmanirbhar Bharat has won, the idea of preference for the deprived has won, the idea of the development of states for the development of the country has won."
He said that every poor and deprived person saw their win in BJP's win today.
"Today every poor is saying that he himself has won. Every deprived person has a feeling in his mind that he has won the election. Every farmer says that he has won this election. Today, every tribal brother and sister is happy thinking that the victory he has turned away is his own. Every first-time voter is saying with great pride that my first vote has become the reason for my victory," he added.
Speaking of Rajasthan elections, Modi said, "In my political career, I always refrained from predictions...But this time, I broke this rule. In Rajasthan...I predicted that Congress would not return in Rajasthan...I had confidence in the people of Rajasthan."
As far as the assembly election results are concerned, the BJP retained Madhya Pradesh and snatched power from Congress in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
The assembly elections in these four states have seen the saffron party and the Congress lock horns in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. Telangana, however, witnessed a direct contest between the Congress and the K Chandrashekhar Rao-led Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) that was aiming for a hat-trick.
As counting day progressed and celebrations broke out in BJP quarters in several places, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said, “People have blessed the BJP in three states... endorsed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and rejected the Congress' false promises."
In Madhya Pradesh, the saffron party seemed set for another term in MP. Speaking on the BJP's performance in the state, MP Chief Minister and BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, “Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji is in the hearts of the people of Madhya Pradesh. The state is also in the heart of Modi ji."Notably, the BJP has been in power in the state for 18 years.
Chouhan further stated that the state government implemented schemes like Ladli Lakshmi and Ladli Behna, and a lot of work was done for the welfare of farmers, poor people, and youth.
