Karnataka Elections 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to campaign in about 20 places in the poll-bound state, reported news agency PTI citing Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai. As per the report, Bommai said that the PM’s campaign programme is being finalised. He added that the Prime Minister is expected to be campaigning in about 20 different places in the state which includes both rallies and roadshows. Karnataka is going to polls on May 10, and the results will be declared on May 13. 


"There is all possibility of the Prime Minister campaigning in about 20 places. In most (of these) places, he will address rally-meeting and in some, there will be roadshows", Bommai told reporters, as quoted by PTI. 


Notably, PM Modi, BJP President J P Nadda, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are among the strong team of Union Ministers who figure in the list of the party's 40 star campaigners for the elections in the state. 


The Union Ministers include Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, Smriti Irani, Dharmendra Pradhan, Mansukh Mandaviya and Pralhad Joshi, according to the list of leaders released by the party. 






Some other big names on the list include Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister Smriti Irani, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya 


Apart from Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai, Uttar Pradesh's , Assam's Himanta Biswa Sarma, Madhya Pradesh's Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also feature on the list to campaign for the party.  


Besides, Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai, former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, KS Eshwarappa have also been named as the party’s star campaigners.
