In an exclusive interview with ABP News, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday divulged his sentiments towards opposition leaders, shedding on his personal interactions and relationships. Conducted by Suman De of ABP Ananda alongside Rohil Sawal and Romana Isar Khan of ABP News, the interview delved into various pertinent topics including reservations, corruption in Bengal, and the aftermath of Cyclone Remal.
When quizzed about his preference among the opposition leaders, PM Modi opted for a diplomatic stance, refraining from disclosing specific names but acknowledging an amicable rapport. Reflecting on past interactions, he highlighted instances of extending support to leaders across the party lines, including former Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee during the 2019 elections.
"I will not tell the name. There is a feeling of belonging. Pranab Mukherjee was in Congress but might have called three-four times during the 2019 elections. I have cordial relations with the opposition leaders, except for the 'Shahi Pariwar'," the Prime Minister told ABP News.
Furthermore, Modi recounted instances of reaching out during times of crisis, such as contacting Rahul Gandhi when his plane encountered trouble in Maharashtra and promptly offering assistance to Sonia Gandhi when her health deteriorated during a visit to Kashi.

Addressing the contentious issue of reservations in West Bengal, Modi criticised Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her stance on OBC reservations and her remarks concerning the judiciary. The critique follows the recent decision by the Calcutta High Court to revoke the OBC status of certain classes granted since 2010, a ruling contested by Banerjee who stated BJP influence behind it.
Expressing his disapproval, PM Modi told ANB News, "Mamata's opposition to the court's decision is an insult to the judiciary. Granting reservations based on religion is a violation of the Constitution. The Constituent Assembly had debated this, and it was unanimously agreed that reservation should not be based on religion."
