PM Modi Arrives At Bharat Mandapam As BJP's National Council Meeting Begins With Eye On LS Polls

PM Modi and several other BJP leaders have arrived at Bharat Mandapam as BJP's two-day national council meeting to discuss party's agenda ahead of Lok Sabha polls begins today.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders have arrived at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi today as the party is set to hold one of its biggest organisational get-togethers, drawing 11,500 BJP delegates from across the country to prepare for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The saffron party's top brass led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi have arrived at the venue to participate in the meeting which is aimed at deciding the campaign themes for the upcoming polls. 

BJP leader and MoS Health Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar who also arrived for the council meet in Delhi said that in last 10 years, under PM Modi's government, major emphasis has been on women security. "The Central government is watching the situation in West Bengal," she said.

The meeting will be preceded by another meeting of the party's national office-bearers that will decide some of the key agenda items for the convention. From chief ministers, state ministers, and BJP state unit presidents, to organisational leaders, elected panchayat heads, district presidents, and morcha representatives, the meeting will witness the participation of BJP leaders from all over the nation, PTI reported. 

While BJP chief JP Nadda will inaugurate the meeting on Saturday, PM Modi will on Sunday deliver the valedictory address highlighting the broader contours of the party's campaign aimed at winning 370 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. In the national council meetings held in the past decade, including the ones organised ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in 2014 and 2019, the attendance generally stayed at around 3,000.

Senior party leader Ravi Shankar Prasad has indicated that the council might adopt two resolutions. One resolution addressing the current political atmosphere and the party's stand on germane issues, and the other underpinned by the state of the economy, can likely be passed, PTI reported. 

Some of the issues that are likely to appear in the speeches of key BJP leaders at the meeting and in the party's resolutions include the recent White Paper on the economy, perceived disarray in the I.N.D.I.A. bloc, construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, India's global standing, and the successful G20 Summit.

According to party leaders, the outcomes of PM Modi's government welfare initiatives, along with PM Modi's emphasis on the youth, poor, farmers, and women, may also be discussed, PTI reported.
