Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that the Congress leader for the state of Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath, has a 'tired face' and no one in the entire world has such a 'thaka hua chehra (tired face)". Speaking to reporters in MP's Jabalpur, he said that if CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Kamal Nath are made to stand on a stage, one can see that "Kamal Nath ji looks so tired". He claimed that a Congress leader, during a recent Assam visit, asked him why the party keeps fielding such a "tired face" (referring to Kamal Nath) again and again.

"...Who else in the world has a more tired face than Congress leader Kamal Nath? If Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Kamal Nath ji are made to stand on a stage, Kamal Nath ji looks so tired..." Sarma said.

This is not the first time Sarma has mocked the look of a Congress leader. Earlier this year, he made fun of Rahul Gandhi during the Karnataka elections.

During an election rally in Karnataka, he said, "Who can take Rahul Gandhi's guarantee?", in an apparent jibe at Congress's five guarantees scheme.

Saying after the Congress leader lost the election battle in Uttar Pradesh and he went to Kerala, "One day his face becomes like Saddam Hussein's and another day like Amul baby," the Assam CM said.

Talking about development in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh, the Assam CM said, "Vikas ki Ganga beh rahi h MP me (Massive development is taking place in MP)", adding that he wishes more success for the state after the elections. Assembly polls are scheduled to take place in Madhya Pradesh later this year.

Hinting towards the recent row over DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin's remark against 'Sanatan Dharma', Sarma said that if Congres comes to power even by mistake at present, it will engulf the country in the narrative that began from Tamil Nadu.

He said that every election has a narrative and since the I.N.D.I.A bloc has come forth, it has "openly opposed Hindus...I hope people will take cognisance of this and vote accordingly".

'A Rehearsal For You': Sarma On Oppn's Announcement Of Not Participating In Media Debates Of Certain Anchors

Sarma also hit out at the opposition for announcing their non-participation in the debate programmes of 14 anchors and called it a "rehearsal" for the people.

"This boycott and media censorship can be traced back to 1975. It is not new. It is a rehearsal for you. For any reason, if the Congress government comes to power, the media will get censored but ISRO has made the Chandrayaan at the right time," he said.

Calling the move "childish", Sarma said he would send the entire Congress party to the moon, to form government there..."

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) on Saturday posted a photo showing former PM Indira Gandhi with 'Boycott Press', and 'Freedom from media' quotes.

"I.N.D.I Alliance is a threat to democracy!" BJP wrote in the caption.
