The BJP recorded their second-biggest win in Madya Pradesh by bagging a staggering 163 of 230 seats. The party's biggest-ever win came in 2003 when the saffron party won 173 seats.
The BJP, whose campaign was spearheaded by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Minister Jyotiradtiya Scindia, handed a resounded defeat to Congress.

Congress leader Sandeep Dixit has lashed out at state leadership over the defeat the party is facing in Madhya Pradesh. He targeted Madhya Pradesh leadership, Kamal Nath and Digvijay Singh and said that the time of MP's leadership is over and that their method is now outdated.
Dixit said the party lost an already-won election. He said that senior leaders did not give place to anyone and 'Ladli Behna' caused harm to Congress.
"Top leaders of our state could not counter Ladli Behna, I myself tried many times but no one listened to me."
MP Election Results: Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw says, "It's a massive victory for BJP (in Madhya Pradesh). People's faith on BJP reflects in today's results."
MP Elections Results 2023: Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) seems to be retaining the state of Madhya Pradesh with continuous lead on 157 seats as ECI data on all 230 seats are in. Congress leading on 71.

Congress calls for the next I.N.D.I.A bloc meeting on December 6. According to ANI, the party's national president Mallikarjun Kharge has dialled alliance partners for a meeting in Delhi.

Employing a pragmatic approach, the party addressed internal discord by fielding Union ministers and MPs. This dual strategy not only mitigated infighting but also addressed potential anti-incumbency sentiments against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The fate of BJP and Congress will be decided today for Madhya Pradesh as the Election Commission of India (ECI) set to declare the results of assembly elections in five states, including MP. The state is crucial for both parties in view of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and for the fact that Congress had won it in 2018 but was ousted from power after Jyotiraditya Scindia led a rebellion against Congress forcing the them-CM Kamal Nath to resign.
This marked the return of the BJP in the state and Shivraj Singh Chouhan was made the Chief Minister. Congress is hoping to repeat the Karnataka magic with its guarantees while the saffron party is determined to continue its reign in the state. On the other hand, exit polls have predicted a close fight between the two parties.
According to ABP- Cvoter exit poll, BJP is expected to win anywhere between 88-112 seats while Congress is likely to get the majority and is projected to bag 113-137 seats. However, the numbers can always change and the real picture will come today.
PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other senior BJP leaders had led the campaigning for the party while Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, party leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi among others led the charge for the party against the BJP.
The elections to assemblies of five states-- Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram are crucial for the Congress which is hoping to regain the lost grip on the ground so that it can perform better in next year's general elections.
