Union Minister and senior BJP leader Smriti Irani called out Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Monday to take part in a debate comparing the 10-year administration of the BJP-led NDA (National Democratic Alliance) with the Congress-led UPA. She stated that Rahul Gandhi may choose the venue, while the BJP will select a party worker for the debate.

Speaking at the 'Namo Yuva Mahasammelan' gathering in Nagpur, Smriti Irani extended an invitation to Rahul Gandhi for a debate, asserting: "If my voice is reaching Rahul Gandhi, he should heed it attentively. Let there be a discourse on the efficacy of our respective tenures. Maidan tum chuno, karyakarta hum chunenge (You select the platform, and we will nominate a BJP representative.)"

She said that Rahul Gandhi would "lose the strength" to talk if a Yuva Morcha worker spoke in front of him.

She stated: "I assure you that even if an ordinary worker of Yuva Morcha begins speaking in front of Rahul Gandhi, he will lose the strength to speak."

She commended the BJP-led NDA government for implementing welfare initiatives such as providing bank accounts to the underprivileged, facilitating household sanitation, distributing free rations to 80 crore citizens, and enforcing a 33 percent reservation for women.

In a critique aimed at the Congress MP, the Union minister remarked: "Despite being invited to the 'pran pratishtha' ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol, Rahul Gandhi failed to attend. His ego remains steadfast, and arrogance persists."

Smriti stated in her address that the BJP has delivered the three major promises made to the people in the party manifesto during the previous ten years. She stated that the three pledges that were fulfilled, included the repeal of Article 370, which abolished the special status of the then-state of Jammu and Kashmir, women's legislative reservation, and the construction of the Ram Mandir.
