Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday took a jibe at Congress saying the party has accepted its defeat in Madhya Pradesh and is now relying on its luck in the upcoming polls. Addressing a poll rally in MP's Betul, the Prime Minister said that Congress was getting exposed as the date for polls in the state was approaching.

"As 17th November is nearing, Congress's claims are getting exposed. Today, we got a report from the entire Madhya Pradesh that Congress has accepted the defeat and now they're relying on luck," he said.

"...Some of the Congress leaders are sitting at home, they don't even feel like going out, Congress leaders don't know what will they say to people," Modi said.

"Congress has accepted that their fake promises don't stand a chance in front of Modi guarantees," he added.

The polls to 230-member Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly will be held in a single phase on November 17 and the votes will be counted on December 3 along with Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram.

Furthering his attack on Congress, Modi alleged that the party gathered votes from the tribal community for decades but "always kept the tribals away from facilities like roads, electricity, water, hospitals, schools."

"Whatever promises Congress makes, it never fulfills," he added.

"Last time, these people could not fulfill the promise of loan waiver till one and a half years after the government was formed. On the other hand, there is BJP, which tries to do more than what it promises," he added.

"There is a place for tribals in our heart. Therefore, when the opportunity came, BJP respected your pride and understood your feelings. That is why Droupadi Murmu , a daughter born in a tribal village and born in a poor family, is today the President of the country and is leading the country," Modi said.
