Expressing disapproval of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent comments on the Agniveer scheme, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Sunday that such criticism reflects “worrying sentiments” for the Nation. He stated that the grand old party’s objections to the scheme have never been consistent and hopes for a “reconsideration” of their stance this time when its Wayanad MP comes to the state.

“From the very beginning, the thinking of Congress and its leader Rahul Gandhi is worrying for the country. He always questions the valor of the army, questions the Agniveer scheme, the way his own thinking always takes the country into an unfortunate system,” he said.

“I hope he will correct his mistake after coming to Madhya Pradesh,” he added.

The Agniveer scheme has been frequently criticised by the Congress party in polls rallies lately. The Congress manifesto, ‘Nyay Patra’ also mentions a promise to take down the scheme if the party is voted to power. Notably, Rahul Gandhi had launched ‘Jai Jawan’ campaign earlier this year which aimed at addressing concerns raised by youth allegedly affected by the scheme’s implementation.

MP CM Mohan Yadav On DD Logo Change

Reacting to the controversy surrounding Doordarshan’s logo change, MP CM Yadav said that the change of colour should be seen as a symbolic significance in Indian culture. Hitting out at Congress, Yadav said, “There is shame, laughter and anger at Congress and the leftist thinking. Now Congress has objection to saffron color. What does Congress want? The leftist and opposition parties do not understand that saffron is a symbol of our sacrifice”.

“If there is such opposition to the saffron color, then they should remove it from their flags as well...I hope that Congress will apologize to the people of Doordarshan for the words they have used,” he added.

The controversy intensified as the autonomous broadcaster unveiled the new orange logo, prompting online criticism regarding its timing and perceived “political implications”. The criticism revolves around the change in the colour of the logo, from red to a distinct shade of orange.

DD News, the English news channel of Doordarshan, introduced the logo change through a promotional video, stirring debates among viewers regarding its resemblance to the saffron colour.
