New Delhi: Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Karnataka on April 20 to address a public meeting in Bengaluru and Chikkaballapura, BJP election management committee state coordinator V Sunil Kumar said on Wednesday. Preparations are underway for a public meeting in Bengaluru at Palace Grounds, Sunil Kumar added.


He also revealed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Karnataka on April 23 and 24, participating in various election campaigns. Shah will conduct road shows across Bengaluru on April 23, followed by public meetings in Chikkamagaluru, Tumakuru, and Hubballi on April 24.


“There will be a road show in Yeshwantpur on April 23, followed by a public meeting in Yelahanka. In the evening, there will be a road show in Bommanahalli assembly constituency. Later there will be a road show within the Mahadevpura assembly constituency,” PTI quoted V Sunil Kumar as saying.

On April 24, Home Minister will attend a public meeting in Chikkamagaluru, followed by a backward class convention in Tumakuru in the afternoon. In the evening, he will join a road show in Hubballi, as confirmed by Kumar to reporters.


Similarly, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will engage in campaign activities in Karnataka on April 24, beginning with a road show in Rajarajeshwari Nagar assembly constituency in the morning, followed by a public meeting in Madikeri in the afternoon and another public meeting in Malpe, Udupi, in the evening.


Furthermore, BJP National President JP Nadda is scheduled to visit the state on April 21, while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be in Karnataka on April 24, according to Kumar's statement.


General elections will be held in India from 19 April to 1 June for the 18th Lok Sabha. The elections will be held in seven phases and the results will be announced on 4 June 2024.
