As the nation is casting ballots for phase 2 of the Lok Sabha elections today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is busy campaigning for the subsequent phases of the seven-phased election. PM Modi on Friday addressed a public meeting in Malda Uttar in West Bengal where he launched scathing attacks at both Congress and TMC. Taking a jibe at the opposition parties, PM Modi claimed that Congress wants to grab the property of people while TMC remains tight lipped about it and is instead working towards settling the Bangladeshi infiltrators in Bengal.

PM Modi said: "Congress wants to grab your property, and TMC isn't uttering even a single word against this. There is a competition of appeasement going on between these two parties. TMC government is working to settle Bangladeshi infiltrators in Bengal, and Congress is talking about distributing your assets among such vote banks."

PM Modi slammed the Mamata government saying that under TMC's rule only one thing prevails-- scams worth thousands of crores.

PM Modi further went on to say that both parties are involved in a competition of appeasement. While TMC works towards settling Bangladeshi infiltrators in Bengal, allowing intruders to occupy lands, Congress is talking about distributing the wealth of citizens among such vote banks.

The prime minister said that there once was a time when Bengal was the driver of India's development. "There was no sphere of life which was not led by Bengal. Be it the field of social empowerment, scientific advancements, philosophical advancements, spiritual advancements, and even sacrificing life for the country," the PM said.

Training guns at the TMC and left he alleged that they "sabotaged the greatness and respect of this state and even stopped its development. Under the rule of TMC, only one thing prevails in Bengal, which is thousands of crores of scams." Calling TMC the culprit, he said Bengal is forced to pay price for its deception.

The remarks seemed to be in reference to the Bengal teachers' rectruitment scam after which over 24,000 jobs were nullified by the Calcutta High Court.

Talking about the Bengal teachers' rectruitment scam, PM Modi criticised the TMC  saying, "TMC has been constantly playing with the future of Bengal's youth. The teacher recruitment scam here snatched livelihood of around 26,000 families."

Highlighting how BJP is better than TMC, he said that the saffron party, unlike TMC, is "committed towards ensuring youth empowerment and is providing livelihood opportunities to youth in an utmost transparent manner."

He further stated that the only thing that keeps TMC and Congress together is appeasement. PM Modi said that both the parties can do anything for appeasement, including demanding that the decisions taken in the national interest be reversed for them.
