New Delhi: Congress on Sunday announced the names of three more candidates from West Bengal for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The party fielded Pradip Biswas from Bangaon, Azahar Mollik from Uluberia and Papiya Chakraborty from Ghatal.
With Sunday’s list, the Congress so far announced the names of 13 candidates for the 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal. The party renominated five-time MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury from Behrampore, fielded Ali Imran Ramz from Raiganj, Mostaque Alam from Maldah Uttar, Isha Khan Choudhary from Maldah Dakshin, Md. Murtoja Hussain from Jangipur, Pradip Bhattacharya from Kolkata Uttar, Nepal Mahato from Purulia, Milton Rashid from Birbhum, Priya Roy Chowdhury from Cooch Behar, and Munish Tamang from Darjeeling.
The Congress has released 13 lists for the general elections so far.

The first list was announced on March 8 and had 39 names, including party veterans such as Bhupesh Bhaghel, Rahul Gandhi, KC Venugopal, Shashi Tharoor and DK Suresh. The grand old party released its second list on March 12 which featured names of 43 candidates.
The second list saw the mention of prominent names such as Nakul Nath from Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara and Vaibhav Gehlot from Rajasthan's Jalore. Among the other notable candidates were Gaurav Gogoi, who has been nominated to contest from Assam's Jorhat, while sitting MP Pradyut Bordoloi will represent Nagaon.
The party has renominated Rahul Gandhi from Kerala’s Wayanad.
While the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) has declared candidates for all the seats, BJP has named 41 candidates from Bengal so far.
The prominent names in the BJP list include Locket Chatterjee from Hooghly, Sukanta Majumdar from Balurghat, Anirban Ganguly from Jadavpur, Hiranmoy Chattopadhyay from Ghatal, Soumitra Khan from Bishnupur, Pawan Singh from Asansol, Arjun Singh from Barrackpur, Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay from Tamluk, Dilip Ghosh from Bardhaman-Durgapur, among others.
