Lok Sabha Elections: The Congress on Tuesday released another list of candidates for the Lok Sabha Elections naming Raj Babbar from Gurgaon and Anand Sharma from Kangra in Himachal Pradesh. On Thursday, the grand old party released its latest list of eight candidates from Haryana for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. The grand old party fielded Deepender Singh Hooda from Rohtak, Kumari Selja from Sirsa, and Mahendra Pratap from Faridabad.

The Congress released two lists of candidates on Wednesday. In one of the lists, the grand old party announced the names of contestants from Khammam, Hyderabad, and Karimnagar Lok Sabha seats in Telangana. In the second list, the Congress named its candidates for the Andhra Pradesh Lok Saba elections and Assembly elections.

On Monday, the Congress announced a list of 7 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections from Bihar and Punjab. In Bihar, Congress has named Madan Mohan Tiwari from Paschim Champaran, Ajay Nishad from Muzaffarpur, Akash Prasad Singh from Maharajganj, Sunny Hazari from Samastipur and Manoj Kumar from Sasaram.

Earlier, the Congress on Saturday released another list of 16 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The party fielded Vikramaditya Singh from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi. He was fielded against BJP candidate and Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut. Manish Tewari was given a ticket from Chandigarh. Tewari will contest against BJP's Sanjay Tandon who replaced sitting MP Kirron Kher.

In one of its previous lists, the grand old party announced candidates for two seats in Maharashtra for the Lok Sabha elections. The grand old party announced Dr Shobha Dinesh Bachhav from Dhule and Dr Kalyan Kale from Jalna seat. The party has, so far, announced candidates for 15 out of 17 Lok Sabha constituencies it would be contesting in the state as part of the seat-sharing arrangement with its allies Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar).

In its 11th list, the grand old party had nominated Y S Sharmila Reddy, the state unit chief, to contest the Kadapa seat in Andhra Pradesh. In its previous lists of candidates the grand old party had announced names of key leaders. Among the prominent names were Adhir Ranjan Choudhary from Bahrampur (West Bengal), Ve Vaithilingam from Puducherry, Sonal Patel, and Nepal Mahato.

The first list was released on March 8 comprised 39 names, including Bhupesh Bhaghel, Rahul Gandhi, KC Venugopal, Shashi Tharoor and DK Suresh. The party revealed its second list on March 12 comrising names of 43 candidates.

The list featured prominent names such as Nakul Nath from Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara and Vaibhav Gehlot from Rajasthan's Jalore. Among the notable candidates, Gaurav Gogoi, the deputy leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha, has been nominated to contest from Assam's Jorhat, while sitting MP Pradyut Bordoloi will represent Nagaon.

The Congress has repeated Rahul Gandhi from Wayanad, from where he registered victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Out of the 39 names on the list, 24 candidates are from SC-ST, OBC, and minority communities.
