Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRCP chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced B Mutyala Naidu as the party's candidate for the Anakapalli Lok Sabha constituency. This decision comes after the party initially left the Anakapalli seat vacant when announcing candidates for other constituencies on March 16 when CM Reddy announced the names of its candidates for 24 of 25 seats.
In a press release, the YSRCP stated, "As per the directions of the Chief Minister and party President Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, B Mutyala Naidu has been appointed as the coordinator (candidate) for Anakapalli Parliament (constituency)." Initially selected as the candidate for the Madugula assembly constituency, Naidu has been relocated to contest from the Anakapalli Lok Sabha constituency, news agency PTI reported.
As a replacement for Naidu in the Madugula assembly constituency, E Anuradha has been named by the party.
With the announcement of Naidu as the candidate for Anakapalli, the YSRCP has now completed the process of naming candidates for all 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in Andhra Pradesh.
Key candidates announced include YSRCP parliamentary party leader V. Vijaya Sai Reddy, who will contest for Lok Sabha from Nellore, and Kesineni Srinivas (Nani), former TDP Lok Sabha member from Vijayawada, who has been nominated by the YSRCP for the same constituency. Additionally, former minister P. Anil Kumar Yadav will contest for the Narasaraopet Lok Sabha seat.
