The Shiv Sena (UBT) on Wednesday released its second list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024. The party announced candidates for four Lok Sabha seats which includes Kalyan-Dombivli, Hatkanangle, Palghar, and Jalgaon. It also said that it will contest four of the six Lok Sabha seats in Mumbai. 


Vaishali Darekar has been given a ticket by the party from the Kalyan-Dombivli Lok Sabha constituency, Satyajit Patil will contest from the Hatkanangle seat, Bharti Kamdi will enter the poll fray from the Palghar constituency, and Karan Pawar will fight from the Jalgaon Lok Sabha seat. 


The party took a strong stance on the three seats that the Congress demanded to contest on under the Maha Vikas Agahdi alliance in Maharashtra. The party took a "friendship or fight" approach for the three seats saying it will not let go the Lok Sabha seats of Sangli, Mumbai North West, and Mumbai South Central.

The Uddhav Thackeray-led party is ready to concede on the seats of North Mumbai and North Central Mumbai to its allies but is steadfast on contesting from the remaining four seats in the city. 


The party is not only not going to concede the Sangli Lok Sabha seat but will also begin the campaign from Thursday, tomorrow.  


Earlier in the day, Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Jalgaon in north Maharashtra, Unmesh Patil joined the Shiv Sena (UBT) after failing to get a ticket from the saffron party for the upcoming polls. 


Patil joined the party at 'Matoshree', the residence of party head and former state chief minister Uddhav Thackeray in suburban Mumbai, along with his followers.


Party leader Sanjay Raut said that with Patil coming onboard, the party's prospects will get a boost in Jalgaon and north Maharashtra and making its path to victory easier.
