Lok Sabha Elections Results: Himachal Pradesh is set to witness a high-octane battle between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress in the Lok Sabha elections. All the Lok Sabha constituencies in the hill state are set to go to the polls in the last phase of the ongoing polls. 


The direct contest between the BJP and the Congress in the state will be crucial, as the saffron party will look to bag a hat-trick of winning all four seats in the lower house, while the ruling Congress will be aiming to translate its 2022 assembly election victory into a Lok Sabha poll success in all four seats of Kangra, Hamirpur, Mandi, and Shimla.

Mandi


In Himachal Pradesh, Mandi is among the high-profile constituencies to watch out for in the ongoing Lok Sabha polls. The BJP has fielded actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut, who is pitted against Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh. 


The constituency is currently represented by Vikramaditya Singh's mother, Pratibha Singh. The grand old party is fighting to retain the seat, whereas the saffron party is seeking to take back the seat won by the Congress in the 2021 by-election after saffron party MP Ram Swaroop Sharma died that year. 


Hamirpur


The Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat will see a fierce battle between four-time MP Anurag Thakur and Congress leader Satpal Singh Raizada. The constituency is a bastion of the saffron party, with Thakur's father, Prem Kumar Dhumal, also having won from here.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Thakur bagged the seat by garnering 682,692 votes (69 percent), while the grand old party’s Ram Lal Thakur secured 283,120 votes (28.6 percent). Bahujan Samaj Party's (BSP) Desh Raj stood in the third position with 7,095 votes.


Lok Sabha Elections Results: Voter Turnout In Himachal Pradesh 


According to the EC data, Himachal Pradesh recorded a 71 percent voter turnout. Mandi witnessed the highest polling at 73 percent. 


In Himachal Pradesh, at 73 percent, the Mandi parliamentary constituency saw the highest voter turnout, followed by Hamirpur at 72 percent, Shimla at 71 percent, and Kangra at 68 percent.
