At a rally in Tamil Nadu's Salem district, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused I.N.D.I. alliance of displaying ill-intentions by announcing to destroy 'Shakthi' during Mumbai meeting, on Tuesday. Further, he alleged that the alliance deliberately insulted Hindu faith and every statement made by them against it was well thought out.

Following a well-attended roadshow he conducted in nearby Coimbatore on Monday, PM Modi in Salem, the home turf of AIADMK chief Edappadi K Palaniswami, said, "Mariamman yahan ki Shakti hai. In Tamil Nadu Kanchi Kamakshi is 'Shakti', Madurai Meenakshi is 'Shakti'...Congress, DMK & INDI alliance says they will destory this (Shakti)."

"At Mumbai meeting, I.N.D.I alliance displayed their ill-intentions by announcing to destroy 'Shakthi'. INDI alliance people repeatedly deliberately insult Hindu faith; every statement made by them against it is well thought out," he said.

BJP In South

On Monday, amid relentless chants of 'Modi, Modi' by enthusiastic BJP workers, Prime Minister held a roadshow in Coimbatore and paid homage to 58 individuals who lost their lives in the 1998 serial bomb blast. The roadshow, conducted under stringent police security measures, took place following the Madras High Court's approval, which directed the police to facilitate the event under reasonable conditions. Initially denied permission by the police citing concerns about the "communally sensitive" environment and the ongoing public exams in schools, the roadshow eventually proceeded with the court's clearance.

In anticipation of Lok Sabha polls in Tamil Nadu on April 19, BJP has intensified its focus on the southern state, aiming to secure a significant portion of 39 constituencies as part of its 'mission 400' seats in the upcoming elections.

Last week, Modi addressed a public rally in Kanniyakumari, further emphasising his party's commitment to the region, which has seen multiple visits from the Prime Minister in recent months.

From March 15, PM Modi has been campaigning extensively in the south as part of its South Reach campaign. PM Modi visited several places including Kalburagi in Karnataka, Pathanamthitta in Kerala and Mirjalaguda in Telangana.
