Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday urged voters in Delhi to press the EVM button for the BJP's lotus symbol with such "aggression" that Arvind Kejriwal remembers that he has to go back to Tihar jail.


Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal, who was arrested in a case related to the alleged excise scam, has been granted interim bail till June 1 by the Supreme Court to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections.


Seeking votes for his party's candidate in the South Delhi constituency Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Shah cited the alleged assault of AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal at the Delhi chief minister's residence and sought to know whether Kejriwal could ensure the safety of women in Delhi. He said that every vote cast in favour of Bidhuri would make Narendra Modi prime minister for the third term and ensure a united and strong India.


Shah asserted that according to the information he has, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has already won around 270 seats and it will cross the 400 mark in the next phases of the election.


He attacked both the Congress and the AAP over the issues of corruption, Pak-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Ram temple. "Is PoK ours or not?" he asked the gathering and accused the Congress and its Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) partners of scaring the country on the issue.

PM Modi To Hold 'Matri Shakti Sammlelan In Varanasi On May 21


PM Narendra Modi to interact with more than 25,000 women on Tuesday in his Varanasi parliamentary constituency.


The BJP's media in-charge for the district, Arvind Mishra, stated on Monday that Modi will interact with the women homemakers, doctors, teachers, business owners, advocates, and athletes during a 'Matri Shakti Sammlelan' at Sampurnanand Sanskrit University.


Modi is planning for a hat-trick from the constituency, having secured victories in 2014 and 2019. He is up against the Congress' Ajay Rai.


Mishra highlighted that women BJP workers have been mandated to bring 10 women from every booth. Mahila Morcha functionaries are inviting various social organisations, students, and teachers of women's colleges to the event, PTI reported.


'Acche Din Aane Waale Hain, Modi Ji Jane Waale Hain': Kejriwal


Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday rephrased the BJP's 2014 election slogan to criticize the prime minister, stating "acche din aane waale hain, Modi ji jaane waale hain," expressing confidence that the I.N.D.I.A bloc will win the upcoming Lok Sabha election.


The Aam Aadmi Party chief, accompanied by his wife Sunita Kejriwal for the first time at election meetings, commended her for taking charge of the campaign during his absence and likened her to "Jhansi Ki Rani."


"Today I have brought my wife with me. She managed everything while I was away. When I was in jail, she visited me. I used to ask her about the well-being of Delhiites and sent my messages through her. She is like Jhansi Ki Rani," Kejriwal said, PTI reported.


Sunita Kejriwal also spoke to the crowd, urging them to vote for AAP to prevent her husband from being jailed again.
