Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday referred to protests in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and said "PoK is part of India and we will take it". Addressing a rally in West Bengal's Serampore, Shah said while peace has returned to once trouble-torn Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir "now echoes with slogans of Azadi and protests".
"After the abrogation of Article 370 by the government in 2019, peace has returned to Kashmir. But now we are witnessing protests in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Earlier, slogans of Azadi were heard here, now the same slogans are heard in PoK. Earlier stones were pelted here, now stones are pelted in PoK," he said, as quoted by news agency PTI. Hitting out at Congress leaders for not supporting the demand of taking over PoK, Shah said, "Congress leaders like Mani Shankar Aiyar say it should not be done as they have an atom bomb. But let me say this, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir is part of India and we will take it."
The Delhi Police on Wednesday said there will be some traffic restrictions for two days from Thursday near the Delhi Technological University (DTU) as a training programme will be held in connection with the Lok Sabha elections, news agency PTI reported. In order to ensure smooth traffic management in the area and for an uninterrupted journey, the commuters are advised to plan their journey in advance, they said.
A training programme related to the Lok Sabha elections to be held on May 25 for all the seven Lok Sabha constituencies in Delhi has been scheduled on Thursday and Friday, in the DTU, Shahbad Daulatpur, the officials said.
In view of it, there will be some traffic restrictions in the area on Thursday and Friday from 7 am to 7 pm, they said. The commuters coming from the Shahbad Dairy side towards the DTU/Samaypur Badli Metro Station will reach their destination via St Xavier's red light and KN Katju Marg, police said.

"The Home Minister will arrive here tomorrow evening and meet several delegations," BJP spokesman Altaf Thakur told PTI. He said Shah is also likely to chair a security review meeting during his overnight stay in the valley.
"Our local party leaders, delegations from the Pahari community, trade bodies and civil society are scheduled to meet the Home Minister," Thakur added. The BJP has not fielded its candidates for the three Lok Sabha seats in Kashmir but has unofficially extended support to some of the new political parties formed after the abrogation of Article 370.

PM Modi To Address Rallies In UP On May 16
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing back-to-back rallies in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday and Friday, IANS reported citing a party spokesman.
He will be holding rallies in Jaunpur and Azamgarh on Thursday. While the Jaunpur rally will also cover Machhlishahr parliamentary seat, the one in Azamgarh will aim to consolidate the party’s position in both Azamgarh and Lalganj seats.
Interestingly, except for Machhlishahr, the BJP lost the other three seats -- Azamgarh, Lalganj and Jaunpur -- to the SP-BSP combine in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. The BJP managed to win Machhlishahr by a wafer-thin margin of 181 votes, with party candidate Bholanath Saroj defeating BSP candidate Tribhuwan Ram, a former PWD chief engineer.

He said Shah is also likely to chair a security review meeting during his overnight stay in the valley.
"Our local party leaders, delegations from the Pahari community, trade bodies, and civil society are scheduled to meet the Home Minister," Thakur added., as reported by PTI.
