Congress Will Stop Agniveer Scheme, Says Mallikarjun Kharge

Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls in the country, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge lashed out at the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led centre saying that there is a lot of anger and strong opposition among the youth of the country regarding the Agniveer scheme.
He said that wherever the BJP ministers of the PM Modi government are going, they have to say that they will reconsider this, and make changes and improvements.


"You wake up early in the morning and do rigorous physical and mental preparations so that you can serve Mother India," he slammed.
Kharge called the Agniveer scheme an insult to the youth's hard work," Kharge said, as quoted by news agency ANI. He stated, "Agniveer Yojana has kept the value of your service for only 4 years. This is not only an insult to your hard work, it is also a breach of national security."


"Congress Party will stop the Agniveer scheme imposed by Modi government. This is Congress' guarantee to the courageous youth of the country," he ensured.

PM Modi to Address Rally in Bastar


Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a rally in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, on Monday, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. According to Anurag Agarwal, the media co-in charge of the Chhattisgarh BJP, PM Modi will speak at a rally in Aamabal village in Bhanpuri, Bastar Lok Sabha constituency. Bastar is set to go to polls on April 19, as part of the staggered election schedule in Chhattisgarh.


Congress Announces Candidates for Bengal Parliamentary Seats


The Congress party has named candidates for three parliamentary constituencies in West Bengal, as well as for a by-election in the state. Pradip Biswas, Azahar Mollick, and Papiya Chakraborty have been nominated for the Bangaon, Uluberia, and Ghatal seats, respectively. Additionally, Anju Begum has been named as the candidate for the by-election to the Bhagabangola assembly constituency in Murshidabad district. With these announcements, the Congress has finalized candidates for 13 parliamentary seats in West Bengal. Bangaon and Uluberia will vote in the fifth phase on May 20, while Ghatal will go to polls on May 25.


Venugopal Reviews Congress Campaign in Jammu and Kashmir


K C Venugopal, the general secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), conducted a review of the party's election campaign in the Udhampur and Jammu Lok Sabha constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir. In a virtual meeting with AICC coordinators Ravinder Sharma and Naresh Gupta, Venugopal assessed the party's organisational activities and campaign strategies. Udhampur and Jammu are slated for polls on April 19 and April 26, respectively. Venugopal received feedback on the coordination efforts among various party units and alliance partners, particularly in support of Choudhary Lal Singh in Udhampur and Raman Bhalla in Jammu. The AICC coordinators highlighted the positive response from the electorate and the collaborative efforts to bring about a change in both constituencies. Union Ministers Jitendra Singh and Jugal Kishore are seeking re-election from Udhampur and Jammu constituencies, respectively.
