The Congress party on Wednesday said that Karnataka was at the "centre point" in its strategy for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls scheduled to take place next year. Speaking at a press conference on the occasion of Karnataka Rajyotsav, Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said that the party hopes it will completely sweep all the seats in Karnataka. 


"Karnataka is at the centre point of Congress party's strategy for parliamentary elections. We believe that Congress will get 20-plus number seats in Lok Sabha polls, we hope to completely sweep the polls and raise the number about 25-plus seats," Surjewala said. 


"The process of identifying parliamentary candidates must begin," he added. 






Surjewala said he would start touring different parliamentary constituencies after polls in the five state conclude by the end of November.  


"We definitely hope that the Congress guarantees which have been decisively implemented and are fulfiled will ensure victory of the Congress party in the Lok Sabha polls," he added. 


The main Opposition party in the country has already picked up pace for the next year's electoral battle.

On October 15, the Delhi Congress launched its campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls with the first "Pratigya" rally as the campaign aimed at covering all the seven parliamentary constituencies of the national capital. 


On Monday, the party held its third "pratigya rally" in east Delhi under the first phase of the party's "Jawab Do, Hisab Do" campaign.


Scores of party leaders and workers assembled in front of the Shastri Park metro station and subsequently, moved to multiple locations for public meetings held by the party's Delhi unit chief, Arvinder Singh Lovely, according to a PTI report.
