In another setback for the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Churu MP Rahul Kaswan said on Monday that he is quitting the party due to "political reasons." Kaswan said he has resigned from his post as an MP as well as from the primary membership of the party.
"Due to political reasons, at this very moment today, I am resigning from the primary membership of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the post of Member of Parliament," he said in a social media post on X.
"I express my gratitude to the entire Bharatiya Janata Party, National President Shri J.P. Nadda, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and Shri Amit Shah ji, who gave me the opportunity to serve the Churu Lok Sabha family for 10 years," Kaswan said.
"Special thanks to my Churu Lok Sabha family, who always gave me valuable support, cooperation, and blessings," he added.
According to PTI, disappointed over not getting a ticket this time by the saffron party, Kaswan decided to call it quits. The BJP has fielded paralympic Devendra Jhajharia from Churu. Jhajharia, a new face fielded by the party from Churu is a two-time gold medallist.
The Monday development comes a day after another BJP MP quit the party on Sunday and joined Congress hours later.

MP from Haryana's Hisar, Brijendra Singh was unlikely to get a party ticket again this time after which he decided to switch sides with Congress.
Earlier on Sunday, Brijendra, son of eminent BJP leader and former Union minister Birender Singh said that he was quitting from the primary membership of the saffron party due to "compelling political reasons".
