New Delhi: It is not a novelty in the political landscape of India for leaders to rope in their kinfolk during electioneering. In the ongoing Lok Sabha elections many top-notch politicians, from Vasundhara Raje to Sharad Pawar,  have also fielded their relatives.

The fourth phase of the Lok Sabha polls has many such candidates who have been entrusted to carry forward the political lineage of  their family.

Vaibhav Gehlot:

Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot’s son Vaibhav Gehlot is contesting from Jodhpur parliamentary constituency, from where his father had contested his first Lok Sabha election in 1980.

Dushyant Singh:

Keeping the legacy on track, former Rajasthan CM Vasudhara Raje has fielded her son Dushyant Singh from Jhalawar-Baran Lok Sabha constituency in Rajasthan. She said that BJP is still strong in Rajasthan and people are going to vote to elect Narendra Modi as the PM again.

Nakul Nath:

Kamal Nath’s son Nakul Nath is in the fray in the fourth phase of elections. He is contesting from his father’s turf Chhindwara.  While Kamal Nath is a Congress candidate for the Assembly bypoll from Chhindwara, his son is a party nominee for the Lok Sabha elections. Both are campaigning together from the same seat.

Milind Deora:

Son of former Congress veteran and former petroleum minister Murli Deora’s son Milind Deora’s fate will be sealed in the EVM today as South Mumbai constituency will cast vote today. His father Murli Deora has contested successfully from South Mumbai.

Poonam Mahajan: Poonam Mahajan, daughter of late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, is carrying forward the legacy of her father. She is contesting from North Central seat in Mumbai. Her political rival is Congress candidate Priya Dutt, who is daughter of deceased Congress politician Sunil Dutt.

In 1984, Dutt joined the Indian National Congress party and was elected to the Parliament of India for five terms from the constituency of Mumbai Northwest.

Parth Pawar:

The third generation of the Pawar family has entered politics with Ajith Pawar’s son Parth Pawar contesting from Maval Lok Sabha constituency in Maharashtra The NCP President already has his nephew Ajit pawar and daughter Supriya Pawar in politics.
