Lok Sabha Elections Results: Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav maintained lead as early trends began on Tuesday morning ahead of Lok Sabha election result 2024. The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minsiter is contesting from his family's stronghold to reclaim the fortress which went to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

As per the early trends by the Election Commisison of India, Akhilesh Yadav maintained a lead from the Kannauj Lok Sabha seat with 500 votes. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party's Subrat Pathak is trailing from this seat.

Voting in Kannauj took place in the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha polls on May 13 with just over 59 per cent of voting.

The Kannauj Lok Sabha seat has been an SP fortress with Pradeep Yadav's win in 1998. Party patriarch, Mulayam Singh Yadav had also won this seat in 1999 and held it for three more terms.

Akhilesh Yadav had won this seat three times in a row in 2000, 2004, and 2009 Lok Sabha elections while his wife Dimple Yadav clinched the seat in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
