The third phase of voting for the 18th Lok Sabha elections is set to take place on May 7, constituting 94 constituencies spread across 10 states and two Union Territories (UT). Following a voter turnout of 66.14 per cent in Phase 1 (April 1) and 66.71 per cent in Phase 2 (April 26), anticipation is high for Phase 3’s outcome. 


In this phase, voters in Assam (4 seats), Bihar (5), Chhattisgarh (7), Goa (2), Gujarat (26), Karnataka (14), Madhya Pradesh (8), Maharashtra (11), Uttar Pradesh (10), West Bengal (4), Jammu and Kashmir (1), and Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (2) will cast their ballots.

Here is a rundown of some of the key candidates and constituencies for phase 3: 



  • Union Minister and BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia will contest polls from Guna. 

  • Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been fielded by the BJP from Vidisha. 

  • Congress leader Dijgvijay Singh will vie for the Lok Sabha polls from Rajgarh. 

  • NCP (SP) leader Supriya Sule, daughter of Sharad Pawar, will contest from Baramati, facing her sister in law, Sunetra Pawar, the wife of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. 

  • Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav’s wife, Dimple Yadav, will contest from Mainpuri.

  • Congress’s Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury will seek election from the Baharampur seat in West Bengal. 

  • Industrialist Pallavi Dempo has been nominated by the BJP to contest from the South Goa seat. 

  • All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) president Badruddin Ajmal will be in the fray from Assam’s Dhubri constituency. 


The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 are scheduled in seven phases, with the dates as follows:



  • Phase 1: April 19

  • Phase 2: April 26

  • Phase 3: May 3

  • Phase 4: May 13

  • Phase 5: May 20

  • Phase 6: May 25

  • Phase 7: June 1
