BJP's Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency candidate, Madhavi Latha, who found herself embroiled in controversy following the emergence of a video wherein she gestured as if shooting an arrow toward a mosque during a procession, has defended herself by accusing Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi of "making provocative videos", claiming that he had the visual edited. The video, which has gone viral, captures Latha's action during the Sri Ram Navami procession in the city.
In response to the circulating video, she told news agency ANI, "The video was from Ram Navami. We worship Lord Ram with 'Ram Baan'...We were praying to Lord Ram. From where did the Masjid come? Asaduddin Owaisi expert in giving provocative speeches and now has started making provocative videos...PM Modi is moving forward for the Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, and Christians."

Slamming Owaisi, she said, "Isn't Owaisi content that a Pakistan was carved out after India's partition? They don't let Muslims live. Stop provocative videos and remarks, and eradicate poverty for the Muslim community... Why are you falsely editing videos to show it everywhere?.. If the EC (Election Commission) had seen, they would have been behind bars not once but again and again..."
Latha previously took to social media platform X to address the issue and stated, "It has come to my notice that an incomplete video of me is being circulated in the media to create negativity. I would like to clarify that it's an incomplete video and even if, because of such video, anyone's sentiments are hurt, then I would like to apologize as I respect all individuals."
‘BJP And RSS Threat To Peace’: AIMIM Chief Owaisi Slams BJP Candidate Madhavi Latha's Video
Her remarks come as AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi condemned the act as provocative and remarked, "There is a threat to peace from BJP and RSS. You people are not showing the vulgar aggressive act being played near a religious structure by the BJP and RSS. What kind of message is being given with this kind of acts? Had it been me, you people would have put a snake around my neck", as quoted by news agency PTI.
Owaisi further appealed to the youth of the city, highlighting the peace and tranquility in Hyderabad over the past 15 years and accusing the BJP and RSS of attempting to tarnish the city's image.
Earlier in the day, the AIMIM President filed his nomination for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency, a seat that he has represented since 2009.
Meanwhile, Union Minister and Telangana BJP president, G Kishan Reddy, attempted to downplay the incident, asserting, "It's a simple thing. She tries that in the service of Shri Ram, no one should take it seriously and negatively, it wasn't against someone. We are the party in power, it's our responsibility to maintain peace and we are doing that", as quoted by ANI.
Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj, when questioned about the video, stated that it had not come to his notice, PTI reported.
