Lok Sabha Election 2024: In a significant development, the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convened a crucial meeting on Monday, January 8, to discuss seat sharing for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The Congress party's alliance committee chief Mukul Wasnik expressed satisfaction with the meeting, stating, "It was a very productive meeting." AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal sent his representatives to participate in the talks and the discussions lasted for two and a half hours.

Kejriwal addressed the media, saying, "This discussion will continue. In a few days, we will meet again to finalise the seat-sharing arrangement. We cannot comment on the details of the discussion at this moment. Please be patient; we will provide all the information. Both parties are crucial parts of this alliance, and we will give a tough fight to the BJP."

Speaking to news agency ANI, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said, "We are absolutely positive that seats of INDIA bloc will be finalised soon."

On the question of how many seats the Congress is seeking, both party leaders refrained from providing specifics regarding the states under discussion. Earlier, sources had informed ABP News that Congress was demanding six seats in Punjab and three seats in Delhi. The ongoing verbal sparring between the AAP and the Congress over seat distribution in Punjab emerged as a challenge in the alliance dynamics.
