In yet another set back for the Congress ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Vibhakar Shastri, grandson of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, has resigned from the Congress. He has tendered his resignation from the primary membership of the party to Mallikarjun Kharge.
“Hon’ble Congress President Shri Khargeji! Respected Sir, I hereby tender my resignation from the primary membership of Indian National Congress,” Shastri posted this message on X.
Vibhakar’s Shastri’s resignation came soon after the party saw the resignations of top leaders like Ashok Chavan and Baba Siddique quit the party.
