Amid the ongoing political crisis for the Congress in Himachal, here's what Congress MLA Ravi Thakur said when asked which party he was with.

The Congress is firefighting yet another crisis after a humiliating defeat in the Rajya Sabha polls held in Himachal where it had a majority. The top brass has flew in and efforts are on to salvage the situation to save the only state in the North under its rule. The Congress defeat had been brought upon by its own MLAs who cross-voted for the BJP. And a day after, cracks have been exposed within the party as MLAs expressed unhappiness over the functioning of the CM Sukhu-led government. Meanwhile, when Congress MLA Ravi Thakur, one of the leaders who cross-voted for the BJP, was asked which party he was with. He responded with a loud and clear - BJP. 

Leader of Opposition in the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Jairam Thakur along with other BJP MLAs reached Raj Bhawan today after the party won the lone Rajya Sabha seat on Tuesday, defeating the Congress's Abhishek Manu Singhvi. 

As many as 15 MLAs were expelled by the speaker from the state Assembly today over misconduct in the Speaker's chamber. Himachal Assembly Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur was also one of them. 

The legislators that have been suspended are Jairam Thakur, Vipin Singh Parmar, Randheer Sharma, Lokender Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Hans Raj, Janak Raj, Balbir Verma, Trilok Jamwal, Surender Shori, Deep Raj, Puran Thakur, Inder Singh Gandhi, Dileep Thakur. 

Following the shocking defeat, Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh, son of former HP CM late Virbhadra Singh announced that he would be stepping down from his position.

The current Chief Minister of the state Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is also likely to tender his resignation at 3:30 pm today after six MLAs rebelled against the party, leading to a humiliating defeat for the ruling Congress party.

Congress's Abhishek Manu Singhvi faced a shocking defeat yesterday after BJP's Harsh Mahajan won the seat in the Rajya Sabha Polls. Even though Congress had a clear majority with 40 seats out of 68 MLAs and the support of three independent MLAs, the contest was tied at 34-34 votes due to cross-voting. The BJP candidate was chosen as the winner based on a lottery method.
