Haryana Assembly Elections: A video from an election rally in Haryana's Nuh has gone viral on the internet. In the video, people can be seen showering wades of cash on a huge crowd gathered in the rally of an INLD candidate, organised in Haryana’s Nagina town.
The incident took place during the election rally of Mohammad Habib, who is contesting the Haryana Assembly Elections on an Indian National Lok Dal ticket from Nuh district's Ferozepur Jhirka seat. Surprisingly, Habib can be seen in the video seated on a car along with his supporters.
In the video, some of his supporters, who were sitting on top of a bulldozer, can be seen showering the currency notes , while the crowd scrambles to collect them.
The Indian National Lok Dal and the Bahujan Samaj Party are contesting the Haryana polls in an alliance again. While BSP will contest 37 out of the 90 Assembly seats in the state, INLD will contest the remaining 53.
They previously contested the Lok Sabha polls together. However, they showcased a poor performance with INLD securing 1.74 per cent vote share and BSP securing just 1.28 per cent.
According to Election Commission of India's Model Code of Conduct, it is not allowed to offer any inducement to voters, financial or otherwise, ahead of the elections as a reward or promise to them to have them exercise their voting rights in one's favour. However, there have not been any reports of the poll body receiving any complaint about this incident yet.
Nuh has three assembly constituencies-- Punhana, Nuh, and Ferozepur Jhirka. It was established as a separate district from Faridabad and Gurugram in 2005.
