Haryana Election Results: As Haryana paved its way towards a comfortabe victory, leading in 50 out of the 90 Assembly seats, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini thanked the people of Haryana for voting for the party and gave the credit for the hat-trick to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The BJP leader, who was just brought in as the Haryana CM just around 200 days ago to deal with the anti-incumbency, also emerged victorious from his Ladwa seat by a margin of over 16,000 votes. He defeated Congress's Mewa Singh, who had won the Ladwa seat in 2019 Haryana Assembly polls, by a margin of 12,000 votes.
CM Saini also thanked the people of Ladwa for casting votes in his favour and electing him as their representative.
"I want to thank the people of Ladwa and the 2.80 crore population of Haryana. The credit for this victory goes to PM Modi... It is with his blessings and the guidelines that he suggested...The people of Haryana have put a stamp on the policies of PM Modi...I thank both the people of Haryana and PM Modi for BJP's hat-trick...I also thank the lakhs of BJP workers for their efforts and hardwork..."
BJP was eyeing a hat-trick in Haryana, while the Congress was eyeing a comeback in the state after a decade. Though several exit polls and even the initial trends today hinted at Congress's win in Haryana, the win gradually shifted to the BJP, which has now crossed the required majority mark of 46, needed to form a government.
