Haryana Election 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched an attack on Congress during a rally in Hisar, specifically targeting senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his son, Deepender Singh Hooda. Criticising the party’s internal dynamics, he remarked, "People are seeing how there is an infighting in Congress to become the Chief Minister. 'Bapu' is also a contender, and so is his son. And both of them are together engaged in eliminating others. And seeing all this, the aware citizens of Haryana have started eliminating Congress."

Modi further accused the Congress of closing its doors to marginalised communities, particularly Dalits, stating, "The doors of Congress are completely closed for Dalits and backwards. Congress knows that Dalits do not vote for it, that is why it hates the entire Dalit community."

In his continued attack, the Prime Minister alleged that Congress’s "royal family" was threatening to end reservations for marginalised communities. "Dalits can't forget the atrocities committed by Congress. Congress is a very selfish party; they can't see anything beyond votes. They have seen farmers as its vote bank. Congress has always made farmers yearn for water, whereas BJP is trying to bring solutions for their problems."

Modi also raised concerns over the lack of unity within Congress, questioning the party’s ability to govern Haryana. "How will Congress bring stability to Haryana when it cannot bring unity among its leaders? Congress is the most deceitful and dishonest party in the country. You can see the condition of Himachal Pradesh in the neighbourhood. They lied to the people of Himachal Pradesh during elections and now after forming the government, people are asking Congress what happened to your promises, and Congress is asking the people who are you?" he stated.

Taking a further dig at Congress’s governance in other states, Modi questioned the non-fulfilment of promises. "Whenever Congress people talk to you about farmers, ask them that you have governments in Karnataka, Telangana, and Himachal. Implement something there. After the formation of the Congress government in Karnataka, hundreds of farmers have committed suicide. Congress has also lied to you on MSP. The truth is that the BJP government is buying 24 crops on MSP, whereas in Congress-ruled states, only 1-2 crops are bought on MSP," Modi emphasised.

‘Congress Is In Clutches Of Urban Naxalites’: PM Modi In Haryana

The Prime Minister also touched upon national security, accusing Congress of being influenced by "Urban Naxalites." He claimed, "Today’s Congress is in the clutches of Urban Naxalites. Who do Congress leaders meet when they go abroad? They meet those people who speak the language of India's enemies. Congress’s international partners are those people who are involved in defaming India all over the world. When they go abroad, Congress leaders speak the same language. You should think why does Pakistan support Congress? The people of Haryana should be very cautious about Congress's intentions."

The remark is in reference to Lok Sabha LoP and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's visit to the United States when he met US lawmakers at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, DC, including Ilhana Omar who has previously taken positions criticising India.

PM Modi then invoked the 2016 surgical strike, marking the significance of the date. "Today is 28th September, let me remind you that it was on the night of 28th September we had carried out the surgical strike... what did the Congress do? They asked our army for proof of the surgical strike. This is the same Congress which called our army chief a street goon. Will the patriotic people of Haryana tolerate such a Congress?" Modi asked.

In his closing remarks, Modi asserted that India has demonstrated its capability to strike within enemy territory, criticising Congress for demanding proof after the 2016 surgical strike.
