New Delhi: The Congress party is likely to have an OBC as Gujarat's Chief Minister if the party comes to power in the state. Sources informed that the party may have as many as three deputy Chief Ministers, one from each Dalit, Tribal, and Minority community.

The decision was taken by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and party's Gujarat election supervisor Ashok Gehlot in a high-level meeting in Ahemdabad on Thursday after the conclusion of the first phase of polls.

Sources tell that Kharge also talked to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on this matter.

The development comes after the state voted for the first phase of assembly elections and preparations for the second phase, to be conducted on December 5, are in full swing.

As for the campaigns, parties are leaving no stone unturned to turn the tide in their favour. PM Modi on Thursday did a massive 50 km roadshow passing through 14 assembly constituencies that will cast vote on December 5.

Congress leader Sachin Pilot also addressed rallies in support of the party's candidates from Gujarat's Dahegam and Bapunagar.

Whereas, Aam Aadmi Party's star campaigners Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh did a roadshow in the state on Thursday.

The counting of votes for Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh will be done on December 8.
