New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Somnath Temple on Sunday where he also offered prayers to the Aadi jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva.
Following this, he will address four rallies in the Saurashtra region. The rallies will take place in Veraval, Dhorarji, Amreli, and Botad.
This region assumes importance for the ruling party as despite winning the previous polls, the BJP was not able to win a single seat here in 2017 as it is a Congress stronghold.
PM Modi's aggressive poll campaign in his home state began Saturday evening as he addressed a rally in Valsad upon his arrival.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is amping up its Gujarat Election campaign with Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to hold close to 25 rallies within three days.
As per news agency ANI, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda are expected to hold more than 15 rallies in the poll-bound state.
Previously, the BJP announced a star campaigner list of 40 leaders including the chief ministers of the BJP-ruled states who are expected to campaign for 2-3 days, holding at least 2-3 rallies.
In the 2017 Gujarat Election, the BJP won 99 seats out of a total of 182 seats. The ruling party is now aiming to exceed 140-mark in the upcoming polls.
The state has been a BJP stronghold as it has retained power for the last 27 years with Narendra Modi being its longest-serving chief minister.
Gujarat will witness polling in two phases on December 1 and 5. The counting of votes for both Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh will take place on December 8.
