New Delhi: In the run-up to the assembly polls in Rajasthan, Bigg Boss fame Gori Nagori joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Jaipur on Sunday. She joined the party in the presence of Rajasthan in-charge Vinay Mishra.

After joining the party, Nagori said that she joined AAP as she felt that the party has the potential to bring a change in society which is much needed.

"We want Nagaur to get recognition which it is lacking, so I have joined the Aam Aadmi Party. I feel that AAP has the potential to bring a change which is much needed. The party has worked very well in various sectors including health, education and electricity in Delhi and Punjab. It should also get a chance in Rajasthan," Nagori told ANI.

When asked why she decided to join AAP, Nagori said that she got good vibes that the Aam Aadmi Party can bring positive changes in the poll-bound state.

Speaking to ANI, Rajasthan in-charge Vinay Mishra said, "Today Bigg Boss fame Gauri Nagauri joined the party. Many more people are going to join the party soon."

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday (October 11) revised the date of polling for Rajasthan Assembly elections from November 23 to November 25.

According to ECI, the change in the date of the polling was made after representatives from various political parties and social organisations said the earlier date coincided with weddings and social engagements, which could lead to a logistical problem for a lot of people. They flagged the issue saying many people would face inconvenience and this could lead to reduced voter turnout.

"The Commission, having considered these factors and representations, has decided to change the date of poll from 23rd November, 2023 (Thursday) to 25th November, 2023 (Saturday)," the ECI said in a statement.

The counting of votes will take place as scheduled on December 3.
