New Delhi: BJP has announced the names of 34 candidates who will contest the upcoming Goa assembly election 2022. BJP has given the ticket to current Goa CM Pramod Sawant to contest from Sanquelim.


Devendra Fandvais of BJP said that the sitting MLA from Panjim has been given the ticket, and not Utpal Parrikar, who is the son of late former CM Manohar Parrikar. "We offered him alternatives, he refused the first one. Talks on with him. We feel he should agree," ANI quoted him as saying.


Deputy Chief Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar will be contesting from Margao assembly seat.









Atanasio Monserratte, the sitting MLA from Panjim (Panaji), will be contesting from the constituency in the upcoming elections. Dayanand Raghunath Sopte, Neelkant Ramnath Harlarnkar, Joshua Peter D'Souza, Dayanand Rayu Mandrekar, and Jayesh Vidhyadhar Salgaonkar are the candidates fielded by the BJP from Mandrem, Tivim, Mapusa, Siolim, and Saligao respectively, as per the list. 


Francisco Silveira will be contesting from St. Andre. Ravi Sitaram Naik, Sudesh Bhingi, Savio Rodrigues, and Ramesh Bombo Tawadkar have been fielded from Ponda, Marcaim, Velim, and Canacona respectively.


On Wednesday, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal announced the name of lawyer-turned-politician Amit Palekar as the party’s chief ministerial face for the upcoming assembly elections in Goa.


The Indian National Congress (INC) on Wednesday released the fourth list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections in Goa.


Five candidates were named in the list for the February 14 single-phase polls for the 40-member Goa assembly.


Delailah Lobo, wife of former BJP minister Michael Lobo, has been fielded from the Siolim constituency in Goa.

The single-phase elections for all the 40 assembly constituencies in Goa will be held on February 14. Votes will be counted on March 10.
