New Delhi: An alleged video from Rahul Gandhi’s roadshow is going viral on social media, with many people claiming that Pakistani flags were waved in the Congress president’s event.

Along with common people, BJP leaders too became a part of the social onslaught of the Congress. BJP leader Giriraj Singh tweeted the video and wrote “this is Rahul Gandhi’s new India.” Even UP CM Yogi Adityanath attacked Congress over this and alleged that it was supporting the Muslim League.

The trolls claimed that Pakistani flags were raised during Rahul Gandhi’s show in Kerala’s Wayanad, when he went there for filing his Lok Sabha nomination.

ABP News probed the matter to find out whether or not Pakistani flags were raised during Rahul’s event in Kerala.

Upon close observation we found that the flags being waved in the video have the moon and the stars printed at the top left portion, while in Pakistani flags the moon and the stars are placed at the right side and their direction is also different.

ABP News found that the flag is neither of Pakistan nor of the Muslim League which was held responsible for partition of the country. In fact the flag belongs to Indian Union Muslim League.

The Muslim League was established in 1906 by Muhammad Ali Jinnah , while the Indian Union Muslim League was established in 1948 in independent India by Mohammed Ismail.

Edappakath Ahamed of the Indian Union Muslim League, has served as Minister of State for External Affairs in the Manmohan Singh government.

The flags that were raised in Rahul Gandhi’s roadshow were those of Indian Union Muslim League. The allegations of the flags being those of Pakistan or of Muslim League were found to be incorrect.
