Maharashtra Assembly Elections: Internet sensation Dolly Chaiwala was spotted campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party in Maharashtra's Nagpur East constituency on Thursday ahead of the November 20 Assembly elections.

Known for his 'tapri-style' tea, Dolly Chaiwala runs a tea stall near the old VCA stadium in the Sadar area of Nagpur. He rose to fame over the last years due to his unique way of making and serving tea at his stall with his videos on the internet garnering immense attention from netizens.

Dolly's presence with the BJP leaders at the election event raises speculation about the possibility of him joining the saffron party. Although, there has been no official word from the party.

Sharing pictures from the event, BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh cabinet minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that the meeting was held with BJP's Panna Pramukh and Panna committee workers to discuss the upcoming Maharashtra elections.

"The enthusiastic workers pledged to dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to ensuring a grand victory for the BJP. BJP candidate Mr. Krishna Khopde, along with many other party members, was present at the event," he wrote.

Although, he shared two pictures with Dolly Chaiwala, he did not specifically mention anything about him. However, just like the rest of the leaders, Dolly too, was spotted wearing a stole around his neck with the BJP's party symbol on it, and was seated on the stage with everyone. This has fueled specualtions about him joining the saffron camp.

Though Dolly has also not made any statement about him joining politics in future, his presence alongside the BJP leaders, and the sudden surge in his popularity lately, have triggered speculations about his future in politics.

Dolly Chaiwala had also served his famous tapri-style tea to Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini at YouTube Influencer's meet in Gurugram in April this year. The video of Dolly serving tea to the Haryana CM had gone viral on social media.

In February, Microsoft founder Bill Gates had also shared a post with him, wherein Dolly Chaiwala was filmed making tea and serving it to him.

Appreciating his innovative approach, Bill Gates said: "In India, you can find innovation everywhere you turn—even in the preparation of a simple cup of tea!"

Suprisingly, Dolly Chaiwala had no idea that he was serving tea to Bill Gates. It was only when people around him and on the internet began talking about it that he realised he had served tea to a billionaire.
