Arvind Kejriwal on Delhi Assembly Election 2025: Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), addressed public meetings in Matiala, Palam and Bijwasan assembly constituencies on Monday during the Delhi Assembly elections.
Addressing a public meeting, he said, "The Aam Aadmi Party government spends the people's money on the people, while the BJP spends it on its friends. We have provided free electricity, water, education, treatment, bus travel for women and other facilities to the people of Delhi from the taxes collected from them. We have built schools, hospitals, mohalla clinics, roads, metro lines."
The former Delhi CM further said that sewer and water pipelines were laid. But the BJP-led central government has distributed Rs 10,000 crore among its 400 friends in the last 5 years. Now these people want to stop the free facilities available in Delhi and hand over the government treasury to their billionaire friends. The people of Delhi will choose the Aam Aadmi Party again this time on the basis of the work they have seen in 10 years.
Kejriwal further said that in the last 10 years, people have given the AAP a lot of love and trust. "You handed me the responsibility of Delhi 10 years ago. We have been working day and night to provide you facilities. We have provided relief to the people in several fields," he said.
"Earlier, there was a lot of power cuts in Delhi. Now, Delhi has 24-hour electricity. Delhi also has the cheapest electricity in the whole country. In other states, people pay thousands of rupees for power, but in Delhi, 73% of electricity bills are zero and the rest have very low bills," Kejriwal claimed.
Arvind Kejriwal further said that in 20 states where the BJP has governments, there are frequent power cuts. "BJP has been in power in Gujarat for 30 years. Where power cuts are frequent. If you press the broom button, there will be 24-hour electricity and if you press the lotus button, there will be at least 6 hours of power cut in Delhi. In BJP-ruled states, bills of more than Rs 5 thousand are generated."
The former CM said that Delhi's government schools have developed very well. "Now, the teachers in the schools are also very good. The children of the poor are becoming engineers and doctors. I am very happy that the results are now better than the effort I put into the work," Kejriwal said.
