New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Karnataka, endowed with “great tradition and a young generation” has suffered due to unstable governments. Addressing a rally at Kudachi in Belagavi district on Saturday, PM Modi said, “Because of political instability, a state like Karnataka, endowed with such great tradition and a young generation, has suffered. The dreams of Karnataka had been shattered.”

“Karnataka has tradition as well as technology. Here startups and culture, grow stronger together. Here India's ancient and new identity flourish together. This is a wonderful model of double engine development,” PM Modi said, adding, “I am sharing my pain with you. Such a great state like Karnataka has been harmed by unstable governments that didn't enjoy the majority. For the aspirations and development of Karnataka, poorna bahumata BJP Sarkar is of utmost importance.”

Taking a dig at the Congress, the Prime Minister said during their rule, the Dalits, Adivasis and all other backward classes were deprived of their rights. He further said that although the country had subsidised ration, the benefits never reached the southern state due to “corruption” of the Congress.

Addressing the rally, PM Modi said the people must vote for the saffron party in order to help restore double-engine government in the state.

“I'm present here today as a Sevak of Karnataka, and I'm willing to work hard for this state. For me, Karnataka is a very important state, and that is why I want your blessings,” PM Modi said, adding, “BJP has a dedicated team for the development of Karnataka, which is equipped with new inspiration and rich experiences. This team will work towards the development of Karnataka during the upcoming Amrit Kaal.”

Notably, this is PM Modi's ninth visit to Karnataka where Assembly elections to 224 seats are due on May 10, and results on May 13.

He held two rallies in Karnataka’s Bidar and Vijayapura earlier in the day, and later in the evening, he will hold a massive road show in Bengaluru North.
