The Congress party made a significant move on Wednesday by introducing the 'Nari Nyay Guarantee' as part of its manifesto, aiming to appeal to women voters across the country. This initiative promises financial assistance of ₹1 lakh annually to women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Alongside this, the Congress outlined five key promises named ‘Mahalaxmi’, ‘Aadhi Aabadi Poora Haq’, ‘Shakti Ka Sammaan’, ‘Adhikar Maitri’, and ‘Savitribai Phule Hostel’.

The Five Poll Promises For Women Voters From Congress:

Explaining the manifesto, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, in a video post, stated that under the 'Aadhi Aabadi Poora Haq' provision, women would have the right to half of all new recruitments at the central government level.

Additionally, the 'Shakti Ka Sammaan' initiative aims to double the central government's contribution to the monthly income of Anganwadi, ASHA, and midday meal workers.

In a bid to empower women with legal knowledge and awareness, the Congress plans to appoint a paralegal professional in every panchayat to provide guidance on navigating legal frameworks effectively.

The party's fifth initiative focuses on addressing the need for safe and affordable accommodation for working women by committing to construct at least one hostel for working women in every district headquarters.

Kharge emphasised the grand old party's commitment to fulfilling its promises, saying, "Prior to this, we declared participatory justice, farmer justice, and youth justice. And, needless to say, our guarantees are more than just empty promises and statements," the Congress president stated.

"Our words are set in stone," he said.

"This is our record: from 1926 to the present, when our opponents were born, we have issued manifestos and fulfilled those declarations.

"All of you keep giving your blessings to the Congress party and strengthen our hands in this fight to save democracy and the Constitution," he said.

Last week, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi announced five major poll promises targeting young voters, including guaranteed apprenticeships for degree/diploma holders and filling 30 lakh vacant central government posts in a time-bound manner.
