Congress on Monday announced a list of 7 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections from Bihar and Punjab.
In Bihar, Congress has named Madan Mohan Tiwari from Paschim Champaran, Ajay Nishad from Muzaffarpur, Akash Prasad Singh from Maharajganj, Sunny Hazari from Samastipur and Manoj Kumar from Sasaram.
The party has pitched Ajay Nishad, who won the seat for the BJP two times but dropped by the saffron party this time, against Raj Bhushan Chaudhary, who was the runner-up in 2019.
State minister Maheshwar Hazari's son Sunny Hazari will take on Shambhavi Choudhary, the daughter of his father's cabinet colleague Ashok Chaudhary, in the reserved Samastipur constituency. Maheshwar Hazari, who is with JD(U), is a former MP from Samastipur and a cousin of late Ram Vilas Paswan, as per PTI.
Congress, which has an alliance with RJD and Left parties in Bihar, is contesting altogether 9 of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
The grand-old party also named Yamini Gomar from Hoshiarpur and Amarjit Kaur Sahoke from Faridkot.

Among the nine seats it is contesting in Bihar, the Congress had earlier announced candidates for Kishanganj, Katihar and Bhagalpur, all of which will go to polls in the second phase on April 26.
But the Congress is yet to announce its candidate for Patna Sahib, which former Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad seeks to retain for the BJP.
The fresh list comes a day after Congress released a list of 11 Lok Sabha Candidates for Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand on on Sunday.
In Andhra Pradesh, the party has fielded Dr Pedada Parameswararao from Srikakulam, Bobbili Srinu from Vizianagaram, Janga Goutham from Amalapuram - SC, Gollu Krishna from Machilipatnam, Valluru Bhargav from Vijayawada, Eda Sudhakara Reddy from Ongole, Jangiti Lakshmi Narasimha Yadav from Nandyal, Mallikarjun Vajjala from Anantapur and B.A. Samad Shaheen from Hindupur. It also named Pradeep Yadav from Godda and Yashashwini Sahay from Ranchi in Jharkhand.
