Congress on Sunday released a list of 11 Lok Sabha Candidates for Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand. The party declared Pradeep Yadav as its candidate for Jharkhand's Godda in place of Deepika Singh Pandey.






In Andhra Pradesh, the party has fielded Dr Pedada Parameswararao from Srikakulam, Bobbili Srinu from Vizianagaram, Janga Goutham from Amalapuram - SC, Gollu Krishna from Machilipatnam, Valluru Bhargav from Vijayawada, Eda Sudhakara Reddy from Ongole, Jangiti Lakshmi Narasimha Yadav from Nandyal, Mallikarjun Vajjala from Anantapur and B.A. Samad Shaheen from Hindupur.

The grand-old party also named Pradeep Yadav from Godda and Yashashwini Sahay from Ranchi in Jharkhand.


The party earlier this week announced three candidates for three Lok Sabha seats from Jharkhand, fielding MLA Deepika Pandey Singh against BJP’s Nishikant Dubey in Godda, former Jharkhand Minister K.N. Tripathi from Chatra and Anupama Singh from Dhanbad.


The Communist Party of India (CPI), Congress and CPI(M) are alliance partners in Andhra Pradesh. Congress has announced the names of candidates for 126 Assembly and 20 Lok Sabha seats, but the suspense continues over Amethi and Rae Bareli seats in Uttar Pradesh.

It has struck a seat-sharing deal with the CPM and CPI. The left parties are set to contest in one Lok Sabha and eight Assembly seats each.  


Elections for the 175-member Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled on May 13 and the counting of votes is slated for June 4. Meanwhile, Jharkhand has a total of 14 Lok Sabha seats.
