The row following West Bengal Congress President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary's dig at state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for questioning her allegiance to the I.N.D.I.A bloc, escalated after Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge jumped in the controversy and rebuffed Chowdhary for his anti-Mamata stance. However, Kharge's comments attracted trouble for him as his posters and hoardings around TMC office were found defaced with ink, with 'TMC Dalal' written over them.

In the recent development, Mallikarjun Kharge has now gone ahead to call Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary Congress's "combative soldier".

The row broke out after Chowdhary hit out at the TMC supremo saying that she was trying to "finish me and my party politically" in Bengal.

He made these comments and questioned the CM's allegiance to the bloc after she said she would offer outside support if the alliance managed to form government at the Centre.

Raising questions at her loyalty, Chowdhary alleged that the Bengal CM could not be trusted and could go towards the Bharatiya Janata Party.

In response to this, Kharge, while dismissing these remarks, stated that the West Bengal president can not decide whether the TMC leader will join the I.N.D.I.A bloc.

'Kahin Pe Kushti Kahin Pe Dosti': BJP Mocks Oppn Over 'Anti-Mamata' Row

To this, Chowdhary replied: "If Kharge ji speaks against my views, I will continue to speak for Congressmen at the grassroots in the state."

While mocking the I.N.D.I.A bloc over the internal row, BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said: "What sort of alliance is this? They have their own commission and corruption...Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary, irrespective of what Kharge says, taunts everyday saying Mamata Banerjee cannot be trusted as she is with Congress because she thinks we might win...She can go somewhere else also...Mamata Didi says Congress cannot win more than 40 seats...The people who cannot unite in seat-sharing how will they form policies together...The whole alliance is like this all over India...Kahin pe kushti kahin pe dosti."
