Ambikapur Election Result 2023: Rajesh Agrawal of the BJP defeated INC's TS Singh Deo by 94 votes in Chhattisgarh's Ambikapur! Agrawal received 90780 votes, while Deo received 90686 votes. Ambikapur is known to be tribal-dominated, reflecting Chhattisgarh's demographic and cultural diversity. Singh Deo, a three-time MLA and member of an ex-royal family, won this seat for the first time in 2008. According to a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and Chhattisgarh Election Watch, T S Singh Deo is the wealthiest MLA, with assets worth more than Rs 500 crore.
Chhattisgarh witnessed a close battle between the BJP and the Congress as the grand old party faced a tough challenge from the saffron party which left no stone unturned to unseat the grand old party.

In 2018, Ambikapur Assembly constituency saw a voter turnout of 78.90%. There were 225,830 valid votes cast out of a total of 178,140 voters. TS Deo bagged the seat after defeating Bharatiya Janata Party’s Anurag Singh Deo by 39,624 votes. The winning candidate secured a 22.20% margin over his rival.
The assembly elections, which are being seen as a semifinal before the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, have witnessed the BJP and the Congress go head to head in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
In Chhattisgarh, the day began with both parties neck and neck but as counting continued, the BJP surpassed Congress and consolidated its lead in the 90-member house.
Speaking to reporters in Raipur, senior BJP leader Raman Singh said that the people had rejected Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Echoing his party colleagues, he said the people had demonstrated their faith in Modi's work and guarantees and not in Baghel's promises.
