Chhattisgarh Polls: Congress Appoints District Presidents, Forms 23-Member Manifesto Committee, 3 More Panels

Congress on Friday appointed district presidents for various district Congress committees and former various committees including election manifesto panel for Chhattisgarh assembly elections 2023.

Chhattisgarh Elections: Congress has appointed district presidents, and formed various committees including poll manifesto, election management, and disciplinary action among others to prepare for the upcoming assembly polls in the state of Chhattisgarh. According to the list, Trilok Chand Jaiswal has been appointed as the president of the Shakti Congress Committee, Arun Malakar as chief of Bilaigarh-Sarangarh, Ashok Shrivastav for Manendragarh - Chirmiri - Bharatpur, Anil Manikpuri for Mohla - Manpur - Ambagarh Chowki and Pradeep Gupta from Koriya.

The party has also formed an Election manifesto committee comprising 23 members in all. It includes Mohd. Akbar, Ravinder Chaubey, Shiv Kumar Dahariya, Amarjeet Bhagat, Umesh Patel, Premsai Singh Tekam, Dhanender Sahu, Phulo Devi Netam, Shailesh Pandey, Arun Vora, Shishupal Sori, Dwarkadhish Yadav, Kunwar Singh Nishad, Rajesh Tiwari, Chunni Lal Sahu, Idrish Gandhi, Hema Deshmukh, Atal Srivastav, Ajay Tirkay, Rajender Jaggi, Vani Rao, Shesh Raj Harbans, and Akash Sharma.

Apart from this, a seven-member committee has been formed to overlook the election management for Chhattisgarh. Shiv Kumar Dahariya, Ramgopal Aggarwal, Arun Singhania, Rajesh Tiwari, Girish Devangan, Malkiat Singh Gaidu and Gajraj Pagariya are the seven members of the panel.

In addition to these, a nine-member disciplinary action committee and an 18-member planning and strategy committee have also been formed in view of the Chhattisgarh assembly polls.

This comes nearly five days after Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge visited the poll-bound state and launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Congress Chief said instead of replying to the questions posed by party leader Rahul Gandhi on the violence in Manipur, PM Modi, mocked “Nehru and the Congress” during his Lok Sabha speech in response to the no-confidence motion.

Addressing ‘Bharose Ka Sammelan’ event in Chhattisgarh's Janjgir district on Sunday, Kharge said the saffron party claims “everything has been done by PM Modi”. “Modi Ji didn't answer (on Manipur), on what Rahul Gandhi or the others leaders of I.N.D.I.A bloc asked him. Instead, he made fun of Nehru ji and Congress leaders. PM Modi keeps saying that he has done everything. PM Modi and Amit Shah studied in government schools established by us. Or did they study in London or Oxford? And they ask us what Congress did in last 70 years? We had only put everything in place,” Kharge said.
