Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday announced that her party will provide free electricity to people in the state for up to 200 units and a subsidy of Rs 500 per gas cylinder Mahtari Nyay Yojna, if it retains power In Chhattisgarh. She said the Congress-ruled state has the lowest unemployment, adding that people from other states come to Chhattisgarh to work.


"Chhattisgarh has the lowest unemployment today. People from other states are coming to work in Chhattisgarh. You are getting relief from the government here, agriculture is doing well," she said.






"Whereas in your neighborhood Madhya Pradesh only announcements and scams are happening," Gandhi said in a jibe at CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP government in MP.


Addressing a rally at Jalbandha in the Khairagarh assembly segment, Gandhi said around 6,000 government higher secondary and high schools will be upgraded into Swami Atmanand English and Hindi medium schools, PTI reported. She added that loans taken by women under the Saksham Yojna and Self-Help Groups will be waived.


The Congress leader said that free treatment will be given to the victims of road accidents and other sudden accidents under the Chief Minister's Special Health Assistance Scheme, the agency added.


"Tivara (a type of lentil) will be purchased from the farmers at the support price," she added. Priyanka Gandhi also came down heavily on the BJP and asked people if they would vote for those who "mislead".


"Will you vote for those who mislead you in the name of religion and only bring problems in your lives, or vote for the party that works to ensure your development and welfare," she said, reported PTI.
