Bihar Mahagathbandhan finalises candidates; RJD to contest from Darbhanga, Congress gets Supaul

Lok Sabha Elections 2019: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav on Friday announced the list of candidates in Bihar Mahagathbandhan (grand alliance) for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2019. During a press conference, the leader of Opposition in the state said that the grand alliance is unbreakable and rumours of rifts were spread. While addressing the media, Yadav announced the list of candidates for the upcoming General Elections and assured that the grand alliance in an alliance of people of the state.
The seat-sharing agreement for 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar consists of RJD contesting on 19 seats, Congress on 9 seats, RLSP on 5 seats, HAM(S) on 3 seats, VIP on 3 seats and CPI(ML) on 1 seat.
Rajashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) will contest Lok Sabha Elections in Bihar on below-mentioned seats:
Nawada, Bhagalpur, Banka, Madhepura, Darbhanga, Siwan, Vaishali, Gopalganj, Maharajganj, Saran, Hajipur, Begusarai, Patliputra, Buxar, Jahanabad, Jhanjharpur, Araria, Sitamarhi, Sheohar.
Congress will contest Lok Sabha Elections in Bihar on below-mentioned seats:
Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia, Samastipur, Munger, Patna Sahib, Sasaram, Valmiki Nagar and Sapaul
Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) will contest Lok Sabha Elections in Bihar on below mentioned seats:
West Champaran, East Champaran, Ujiyarpur, Karakat and Jamui
Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) will contest Lok Sabha Elections in Bihar on below-mentioned seats:
Nalanda, Aurangabad and Gaya
Vikasshil Insan Party (VIP) will contest Lok Sabha Elections in Bihar on below-mentioned seats:
Madhubani, Muzaffarpur and Khagadia
CPI-ML will contest Lok Sabha Elections in Bihar on below-mentioned seat:

It was also announced that Sharad Yadav will contest from Madhepura, Sarfraz Alam from Araria and Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Misa Bharti from Pataliputra. For Congress, former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar will contest from Sasaram in Bihar. The previous hitch in the grand alliance is said to be a reason for delay of induction of rebel Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shatrughan Sinha in the Congress.
As per the latest announcement, Chandrika Rai will contest from Saran, Tanveer Hasan from Begusarai, Abdul Bari Siddiqui from Darbhanga, Raghuvansh Prasad from Vaishali and Jay Prakash Narayan Yadav from Banka. Rastriya Janshakti Party’s Arjun Rai will contest from Sitamarhi, Mohammed Javed from Kishangarh. Congress Party’s Ajay Singh from Purnea, Tarique Anwar from Katihar and CPI(M)‘s Neelam Devi from Munger.
The voting for Lok Sabha polls in Bihar is set to take place in 7 phases, starting April 11. The voting in Bihar will end on May 19 and counting of votes and result announcement will be done on May 23.
