Chowdhary has managed to hold on to the Baharampur seat since 2009, managing to garner a win back in the 2019 elections with nearly 6 lakh votes, commanding 45.47 per cent of the total tally. He triumphed against Apurba Sarkar (David) of TMC, who won 39.26 per cent of votes.

West Bengal Lok Sabha Elections Results: What Does The Exit Polls Show This Year?

The exit poll by ABP News in collaboration with CVoter suggests a sweeping victory for BJP in West Bengal. The ABP News-CVoter exit poll, conducted to capture the electoral sentiment across the country, indicates that the BJP is on track to secure between 23 and 27 seats in West Bengal. In contrast, TMC is projected to win between 13 and 17 seats.

The INDIA bloc, representing the opposition, appears to be facing a significant setback, with predictions indicating a mere 1 to 3 seats. As is evident, this outcome is a blow to the opposition's efforts to challenge Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership in this election.

West Bengal, a critical arena for the BJP, saw the election of 42 MPs across all seven phases in 2019. During the last Lok Sabha elections, the BJP achieved a notable victory in the state, securing 18 seats. The Trinamool Congress won 22 seats, while the Congress managed to obtain only 2 seats. This year's exit poll results suggest an even stronger performance for the BJP, underscoring the party's growing influence in the region.
